Sharada Vidya Mandira Senior Secondary School observed Constitution Day on 26 November with solemnity and respect. The programme was coordinated by the Principal, Social Science Department and involved students from Classes 5 to 12.
The event commenced with a brief introduction to the significance of Constitution Day. The Head of the Social Science Department, Madam Sudha Rani, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of the Indian Constitution in shaping the nation’s democratic framework. She emphasized the need for students to understand their rights and duties as responsible citizens.
A special storytelling session was conducted on the origin and meaning of the phrase “Vande Mataram”, helping students learn about its historical and cultural value. This was followed by the reading of the Preamble of the Constitution in both English and Kannada, which helped students understand its core values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.
The programme concluded with all students and staff coming together to sing “Vande Mataram”, creating a moment of unity and patriotic spirit.
The celebration effectively enhanced constitutional awareness among students and reinforced the importance of upholding the ideals enshrined in the Constitution of India.
